Description
This Rolex Submariner Date is an outstanding 1971, 1680 in original condition with the sought after ‘Red’ dial.
Most matte dialled Submariners have had something changed – at least the hands, at worst the dial, but this 1680 has the original dial and the hands as well as the original bezel insert. A combination so loved by purists and collectors.
The case on this watch is outstanding with incredibly sharp edges, sides and lugs. The original tritium dial and hands are excellent with a stunning creamy patina and the bezel insert is original with a strong black colouring.
Very importantly, the dial is a black MkII ‘Metres First’, one of the last Metres First dials ever made.
The bracelet is the original ‘Patent Pending’ 9315 Oyster with folded links and the correct 280 End Links.
The package is completed by the original punched papers, the correct ‘Seahorse’ sports box set, the ‘YRO’ booklet and both the red seal and green Swimpruf tag.
This watch has genuinely been carefully worn and it is an excellent opportunity to secure a lovely watch in world class condition.
Recently serviced and just tested by certified watch specialists Michlmayr and Co this Rolex Submariner Date is running very smoothly.
