Rolex Explorer II 216570 Full Set

The Rolex 216570 Explorer II was introduced in 2011 with a larger 42mm stainless steel case than its predecessors and the all new bracelet and hands.

This is a really nice example of the black dialled version, and it is 99% unmarked.  There is a TINY mark on the rehaut at 2 o’clock but apart from that, nothing anywhere.  The black dial and hands are perfect and the bracelet has no wear or damage.

It comes with both original ‘Wave’ boxes, the plastic card papers, card wallet and booklets as you would expect as well as the original green seal.

Just tested by certified watchmakers Michlmayr & Co. this Rolex 216570 Explorer II is running within COSC spec.

The Rolex Explorer II which was originally referred to as the ‘Steve McQueen’ Rolex, despite the fact he never wore one, has been with us since 1971 and is still going strong now. There have been several versions over the years and this is the current version.

Rolex Explorer II 16570 Black

The Rolex Explorer II 16570 was introduced in 1989 featuring a new movement and updated styling from its 16550 predecessor and stayed in production until 2011 in both black and white dialled versions – The white ‘Polar’ version has perhaps always been more popular, although that means that there are fewer black ones around, making this one perhaps the more collectible.

This is an excellent opportunity to buy a service stickered Rolex Explorer II 16570 Full Set.

This watch is superb in every way having been lightly worn and has RSC stickers still attached to the left hand case side from its recent Rolex service.  It has never been worn since its service.  It has the engraved rehaut and 3186 movement of the last 16570s.

It comes with the papers, both original boxes and the accessories and books as well as the serial numbered tags and RSC documentation.

Just tested by Omega certified watch specialists Michlmayr & Co and this Rolex Explorer II Polar is running within COSC spec.
