In the 1960s when NASA were looking for large, manual wind chronograph for Neil Armstrong and his crew to take to the moon, this is the watch that they wore. Automatic movements don’t work in zero gravity you see.  Ever since it has been referred to as ‘The Moonwatch’.  Incidentally, they took these watches on five subsequent lunar missions – so it’s hardly a flash in the pan.
